Drawing an water drip illusion

Hello world, to day I decided to draw something fun, an illusion, cool huh? I thought that the writing paper illusion was pretty cool so I decided to just  wing it.

I started drawing an egg shape lightly on a piece of white paper. Then I got a piece of writing paper and and measure how much each individual blue line was separated. Then I got a blue colored pencil and an ruler and drew all the blue lines, sharpening the colored pencil every four lines.I made sure that I did not draw over the egg shape though. After I completed this long process, I got a light red colored(A.K.A. pink) colored pencil and drew a straight and thin line on the left side of the paper.

Next I drew curved blue lines over the egg shape that I sketched earlier. Then I started to shade. The illusion started to pop out now.

Finally I finished shading, and erased the pencil for highlights.This illusion drawing turned out way better then I expected. However, next time I am going to substitute a blue and red pen for the colored pencils.
