This drawing took me one hour, because it is pretty simple. I was going to add the face, but didn't know were to start so...I just drew someone with no face...spooky. I ended up using no ink, just pencil crayon, and pencil.
I started with lightly sketching the out line, and beware...it is not as easy as it looks.
Make sure the right half of her face looks like the left half of her face. So don't make it look like she's a alien, let's just stick with humans. Notice that on the right side of the face, the hair flows the same direction. I hope you can see the sketch well enough. I drew the braid coming out of the cheek bone, however, it looks connected to the hair some how.
Now on the right side of the head, the little swirl looking thing at the bottom of the hair needs to look slightly connected to the upper swirl, if you know what I mean.
Now just like writing letters, start from the top of the hair. Before you start to draw with pencil crayon, erase your lines until you can only barely see them. Don't forget to not color white line on the right side of the head cutting from the back to the front. If it helps you can separate the rainbow colors with guide lines, so you know when to use a different color. Just make sure you colors look connected, and it looks flowy. Now for the dark shading, I used black pencil crayon, and I used pencil to make it a more solid color. Pencil crayons can become a solid color so make sure you leave white streaks too:) Just continue down the hair with the same method. For the braid you want to have more lines on the side and lighter in the middle. For the super small hair band, just use pencil instead of black pencil crayon. The shadows of the hair didn't turn out so good, but all in all I'm happy with the results:)
